I believe people are the true strength of the 56th district and of Kansas. I have used my skills and abilities in the legislature to be one who listens, weighs pros and cons, and votes to support the people of the 56th district and of Kansas. It takes these strengths and abilities to work for a brighter future which gives all people opportunities for a better life and the chance to be responsible for achieving that life.
My number one priority will always be to represent you, and that begins with my pledge to always listen.
"I was first introduced to Representative Annie Tietze in 2007 when working with a coalition of minority, women and small business owners trying to obtain a Kansas certification program. At that time, the lack of such a program was not only hurting companies trying to get government contracts, but equally important, the absence of this certification resulted in the same companies losing contracts to out of state competitors marketing to Kansas Fortune 100 and 500 corporations seeking to fill internal M/W/DBE and small business goals. Representative Tietze dove into the issue and became a hands on advocate with the Governor's office, seeing that within a year the state had such a program. Since that time its been my honor and privilege to watch her work on various key initiatives benefitting small business across the board. She is a hard working friend to small business and labor, and a respected voice to groups that occasionally are pushed to the side when partisan politics take over. A tireless advocate, she also garnishes respect from across the aisle for her dedication to learning the aspects, discussing the complexities and finding a mutually acceptable solution which benefits her constituents in a manner which is fair and accomplishes state wide goals within budget constraints."

"As my representative, Rep. Tietze has given me the opportunity to express my views about legislative issues in several ways. She is accessible when the legislature is in session and also when it is not, and there have been several times she was on my doorstep so I could talk to her face to face. She also keeps us informed through her email newsletter. She understands her district and our interests."
